The Sunflower Field

sunflower field wyke manor estate

The Sunflower Field was open 24th – 30th August 2021

A huge thank you to everyone who visited and filled the field with happiness! It was an incredible spectacle to see so many acres of smiling sunflowers and we hope you all enjoyed the magic as much as we did!

The Sunflower Field is not always an annual event – it is dependant on our crop rotation systems and what else we are growing on the farm. So please keep an eye on our website to see if it will return in 2022.

With thanks and love from The Petal People and all the staff in The Sunflower Field xxx

Quick FAQs:

Where is the Sunflower Field?

The Wyke Manor Estate is situated in the village of Wick, just outside Pershore, in Worcestershire. Get more info and directions HERE.

When is the Sunflower Field open?

The Sunflower Field is not always an annual event – it is dependant on our crop rotation systems and what else we are growing on the farm. So please keep an eye on our website to see if it will return in 2022!

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes, of course! You are very welcome to bring a picnic along. We have lots of space and grassed areas where you can sit down. We recommend that you bring a blanket to sit on as it can be a little damp on the grass, especially in the mornings! Please don’t bring bbqs, stoves or bulky furniture. Please also note that alcohol is not allowed. Thank you.

Can I take photos in the flowers?

Yes, of course! The Sunflower Field is a fab spot for taking pictures of your loved ones, composing some dramatic landscapes shots or practicing your macro work with the bees. If you are not a professional photographer there is no extra charge for taking pictures. However, Professional Photographers who will profit from their photographs must pre-register with us – read all the info HERE. Thank you!

Can I bring a pram/pushchair?

Of course you can! However, we are a pop-up event in farm fields so the ground is bumpy and uneven underfoot. There are no hard footpaths/pavements. Please be aware that it can be hard to push prams when the ground is muddy or very dry and dusty. Some people do struggle with lighter weight models. You might prefer to use a carrying sling or similar instead.

Can I book to have a photoshoot?

If you’d like to find a photographer who is offering photos shoots we recommend that you check our social media feeds @realflowerpetalconfetti Plenty of local photographers offer packages and options. If you already have a photographer in mind, you’ll need to ask them to read our Commercial Photography T&Cs HERE and have them register with us.

Can I buy sunflowers?

Yes, we offer sunflowers for sale inside the field. We also sell a small range of our Confetti Petals too!

Please note that we cannot guarantee that sunflowers will be available to purchase all day every day. Certainly, this might sound a bit crazy given that we have so many flowers! But if we cut the blooms when it is very hot, the petals start to fall straight away. We want to sell you something that will last.

If you require flowers for a wedding or event, please call Nancy on 01386 555045.

Do you have a café?

Sometimes we have a pop-up cafe inside the field selling hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice creams. This will be confirmed after our open days have been determined.

However, we do not offer meals, so we recommend that you head into Pershore after your visit where you’ll find lots of lovely cafes, pubs and restaurants!

Are you wheelchair friendly?

Please remember that we are a pop-up event in a farm field. The ground is very bumpy and uneven. This can be challenging for those with limited mobility. We advise that it is generally unsuitable for wheelchairs, lightweight mobility scooters and walking frames. However, many more intrepid visitors in wheelchairs and mobility scooters do negotiate the grassy areas around the flowers. We would advise that it comes down to the attitude and frailty of the individual. Please read on down this page for more information on Disabled Access.

Can I bring my dog?

No, we are very sorry, but no animals (except registered service animals) are allowed. Please DO NOT leave them in your car.

General Visiting Information

Visiting Our Farm:

Please remember that we are a working farm and this is a pop-up event! Farm fields are bumpy and uneven underfoot and there are lots of plants and insects around that might scratch, sting or bite. Consequently, we recommend you wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the outdoors. A hat and sunscreen on a sunny day is essential. To clarify, there is very little shade or cover in The Sunflower Field, so please come prepared!

Because we are outdoor event in a farm field we are at the mercy of the weather! When the field is open, we will post regular updates on this web page and on our social media, keeping you informed of the conditions. Please check before you travel and plan accordingly.

We may have to close the field in the event of extreme weather, for instance, very heavy rain or high winds. Please check our website or social media feeds before you set off on your journey to see us. We will give you as much notice as possible, and if we must close the field you will receive a full refund.

Please don’t bring too much stuff with you! (See below for the T&Cs of entry) Little ones in buggies and prams are, of course, very welcome – but be aware that you might struggle on bumpy, dusty or wet ground.

We have portable loos available in the car parks and sunflower field, but there is no running water or electricity on site. We strongly recommend that you bring your own hand sanitiser with you.

Groups and Coach Trips

Please be aware that admission will be checked in your car, therefore, if you are visiting in a group each vehicle will need to know the order number of the ticket booking.

We can accommodate small mini buses in the car park. However, we are not be able to accept full size coaches.

Disabled Access

Most importantly, please remember that our event takes place in farm fields. Therefore, the ground is very bumpy and uneven. There are no permanent hard surfaces or pathways. Routes are cut through the flowers and consequently the soil usually become very soft and dusty (or muddy in wet weather). This can be challenging for those with limited mobility. We advise that it is generally unsuitable for wheelchairs, lightweight mobility scooters and walking frames.

However, many more intrepid visitors in wheelchairs and mobility scooters do negotiate the event. We would advise that it comes down to the attitude and frailty of the individual. Therefore, if you are planning a visit with family/friends with mobility issues, please do call us to discuss you concerns.

Disabled toilets are provided. No wheelchairs are available for loan. No concessions for carers.

Professional & Commercial Photography:

The Sunflower Field will make a fabulous backdrop and setting for a photo shoot. However, any and all commercial activity does not fall under our general admission terms. If you are a Professional Photographer or business interested in having any form of photoshoot, class or workshop in the confetti field, please visit our dedicated page HERE.

If you’d like to find a photographer who is offering photos shoots this summer, we recommend that you check our social media feeds @realflowerpetal confetti to find people who might be offering their photography services. We are sorry but we do not organise or book photoshoots ourselves.

*Please note that access outside of our opening dates and times is strictly limited and by prior arrangement only. Please get in touch.

Media Enquiries:
